Description

A wonderful Maine experience for large groups. Enjoy the peace and tranquility with family and friends on an island in the middle of Rangeley Lake. Rest, relax and enjoy the log lodge, the wildlife, and all the lake has to offer. Whether boating, swimming or hiking the island path, you will feel like you have escaped the fast pace of life.

Built in the late 1980's following a massive fire, these logs came from Penticton, British Columbia. A wood shed and the Cooks cabin are the only original buildings that survived the fire.

The island has no electricity. Propane warms our food and water, cools our food and drinks, and lights the lights. Water, pumped from the lake, runs from the faucets so you can wash dishes, shower, and flush toilets. Bottled water is provided for drinking and brushing teeth. Cell phones work just fine for those who just cannot be without outside contact. We provide a caretaker to handle trash, lights, etc. Parking for up to six vehicles and two boat docking spots on the mainland are available off Rt 17. Launching of your own boat is done in Oquossoc at the public boat launch.

Hiking trail around the island (~1 mile). Three docks, beach, moorings (if requested), room for 3 small to medum-sized boats on the boat dock. One to two canoes available. Guest must rent their own motor boat.
